Where in the World was Hector Rodriguez?

As we posted a few weeks ago, Hector headed to Japan last week with Bmac Sheers. Let’s see what he did!

Part One: Hector Gets a Tour of the BMAC Sheer Factory
Hector flew into Narita Airport, and was greeted with open arms by Sen Yamanaka, the U.S. representative from Bmac Sheers.

They headed to Tokyo for a night, then rode the bullet train two and a half hours to Niigata, Japan, where their bags awaited them at a traditional Japanese hotel, Okura Hotel.  Niigata is known to be the producer of the world’s best rice and sake.

After settling in, the group headed to the Bmac Sheers headquarters in Niigata, Japan where Hector met the owner,  Mr. Shigeru Fujita, and the rest of the executive team, including Mr. Fujita’s son, Masatake Fujita. Hector and Shigeru had an immediate connection through their shared passion of art and jewelry making.

After getting to know one another, the team took Hector on a tour of the sheer factory where Hector investigated every minute detail about the sheers; from the conception of sculpture, to forging, tempering and cooling.  Hector was thoroughly impressed by the techniquies and precision with which each Bmac sheer is produced, and certainly left no stone unturned in his inquiries.

2011: A Year in Review

I know we are all thinking the same thing: How did this year go by so quickly?! And it’s true…yet another year has gone by, but what has really been accomplished? So much!

We are proud to say that 2011 has been quite an eventful year, from welcoming several new, talented stylists to launching our blog to participating in wonderful charity organizations such as Tower Cancer Research Foundation’s Bosom Buddies Program and the Manifest Foundation, this year has been a great year at Cush Salon.

Being firm believers of never looking back and always moving forward, however, a better question is: what do we plan in 2012? A lot. As you saw in last week’s post, Hector will be traveling to Japan to consult for BMAC Shears and participating in many trade shows throughout the year. Chassi will be fulfilling her love of traveling and learning with WorldVentures.  But most importantly, Cush Salon will be continuously working to offer our clients an experience worth bragging about to your friends. Let us know what we can do to make your experience here at Cush unforgettable! We look forward to being your hair gurus in the this new year and many years to come !

Happy New Year 2012 from the Cush Family!

What’s New at Cush?

We have so many new amazing products on our shelves we could explode with excitement! Let’s start with an introduction to a few new Colure Haircare products! Presenting the Colure SmoothStraight System:

An organic, more natural alternative to chemical straighteners, this trio works together to smooth out that annoying frizz. After all, we just had a 93 degree day in October, summer never really goes away in LA (and neither does that frizz)!

This luxurious, three-step Colure SmoothStraight system is sulfate and salt free, specifically designed to ‘temporarily straighten, nourish and tame hair while leaving unruly locks ultra smooth, velvety soft and color amazingly vibrant’. A certified organic blend of plant extracts, essential oils, aloe vera, shea butter, jojoba, safflower and avocado oil ensures that your hair stays naturally healthy, shiny and smooth. As always, these three Colure products were created with Colure’s exclusive Zero Color Fade Formula™. If you’re searching for ‘an alternative, safe and non-toxic way to straighten hair that will last until the next washing’, Colure’s SmoothStraight Shampoo ($25), SmoothStraight Conditioner ($25), and SmoothStraight Relaxing Elixir ($26) are going to be your new favorite products!
